SONKO'S NINE LIVES TO THE TEST.

WILL DECISION TO OUSTER JUDGE CHITEMBWE GRANT SONKO A POLITICAL LIFELINE?

A tribunal has recommended the removal of High Court Judge Justice Said Chitembwe who was under investigation.

Findings of the tribunal were presented to President William Ruto on Tuesday afternoon, February 7, 2023.

He now has 10 days from today, to challenge his removal from the Judiciary as recommended by a tribunal appointed to probe his conduct.

Investigation finding him at fault for allegedly receiving huge amounts of bribes for favourism during sentencing.

He was also  alleged to have conspired with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's enemies to subvert justice during the hearing of his impeachment case.

The genesis of the judge’s tribulations are videos leaked by Mr Sonko in 2021 after lost his bid to overturn his impeachment. The videos depicted the judge in a scheme to compromise an active court case involving the property succession in Kwale.

The matter of Sonko's cases that were given wrong verdicts by the judge will be subjected to Judicial review

Justice Chitembweis also accused to have held a meeting with Mr Sonko during which he offered legal advice on the viability of an appeal and the proposed grounds of appeal against the judgment that upheld his impeachment.
