Now popularly known by his electorate as 'Biggie', the gym instructor defied all odds and by defeating 17 opponents with 4623 votes to emerge victorious in August 22nd. "This was my first time to view. I had no experience, just a dream and the drive," he says adding that his self will and encouragement from his supporters fueled his quest. "I had no resources nor funds. What gave me an edge was my door to door strategy which made popular."
Growing up in Ongata Rongai, Tito went to Ongata Rongai primary school before joining Muindi Mbingu high school and later advancing Sadili Oval fitness school.
What main issues are you sorting out first? "My priority will be feeder Roads, nurturing talent especially in sports and creating a conducive environment for business to thrive. "the government is very accommodating to the youth which is really encouraging."
How are you adapting from transition from the gym to passing laws? "It is what I've always loved doing. I love serving people and our cordial relationship has made the transition very easy."
What your next plan for the youth? "I'll bring them on board in decision making as we work on how we can create employment for them.
And the best thing is that me and a few youthful MCA's have been there hence we're tirelessly fighting for them to get opportunities in the Government." How about his love for working out, we ask. "That won't stop anytime soon gym ni lifestyle," he says with a smile.
