The Kenya Association of Music Producers, KAMP, signs new distribution and royalty collection deal with Cape Varde

 



The Kenya Association of Music producers, KAMP, has signed a reciprocal agreement with the it's collective counterpart from Cape Verde. The agreement between the two bodies will oversee the promotion and protection of the rights to its members and facilitate royalties and distribution from both countries. Speaking during the signing of the agreement, KAMP's CEO Maurice Okoth said, "This is a great step towards building a stronger music industry in Africa. It is beneficial for artists as we gear towards earning royalties from Cape Verde for our members and vice versa. Indeed, it is a move to make sure we achieve fostering fruitful collaborations between African music organisations and celebrating the universal language that is music." The collaboration will hook up producers in an exchange program that will benefit producers and artistes alike.

PRESIDENT RUTO CLEARS CATHERINE KASAVULI'S 4M HOSPITAL BILL

 President William Ruto has waived the hospital bill incurred by the late veteran journalist Catherine Kasavuli, KBC anchor John Jacob has confirmed. In a tweet, Kioria expressed gratitude to the Head of State for helping offset the bill. "Great thanks to our President who has waived the hospital bill incurred by my colleague Catherine Kasavuli. May her soul continue to rest in peace," he wrote.  The family sought the help of well-wishers to offset an outstanding Ksh4 million bill accrued during Kasavuli's stay and treatment in the hospital. A requiem mass for the late journalist will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Friends International Church along Ngong Road in Nairobi. Kasavuli's remains will then be transported to Vihiga county where the final service will take place at her rural home at Tigoi Primary School on Saturday, January 14.  Drama as Sonko's fans beg for Andrew Kibe's blood. Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was forced to intervene and come to the rescue of outspoken YouTuber and content creator Andrew Kibe after a section of the public threatened to attack him over what they claimed was disrespecting the former county boss.  The two, one time rivals, were having a an outdoor recording when a section of Sonko's fans got wind of their presence. It is then that they started hurling insults to the controversial YouTuber while begging for his blood.
