Frasha, one-third member of celebrated boy band P-Unit has taken a bow from music. He stunned many a fans after making the announcement after which he held his final stage appearance on Thursday, February 23, more than two decades since joining the music industry.
The rapper staged a final performance to commemorate his exit from the game and doubled it with a celebration of his birthday which coincided with the date in what he says is a magical date for him.
“23 is a magical number for me, 2023 is a magical year for me and 23rd is when I bid the game goodbye officially. Thursday 23rd, 2023 will be my last public show and also my birthday party,” Frasha said.
The rapper's showcased a sterling performance for his fans during the star studded show held at Kentwood Address hotel, off Kiambu Road. Various celebrities and personalities attended the event including former Starehe M.P and fellow artist Jaguar, boy group H_Art the Band, Uganda's Ambassador, KRG the Don, comedian Sleepy David, who co - hosted the event, amongst others. Various city business men were in attendance to show their support including siblings Alexx and Sam K.
Speaking about his decision to bring the curtains down on his music career, Frasha said it was difficult to juggle between careers.
“This is my last performance and it is time to give other people a chance to push the wheel on. I will not be very active in music. I can’t concentrate on two careers and also my family. I feel like I am aging and we can’t sing all our lives,” he said. Frasha went ahead to perform his most popular hits from both P Unit's singles to his solo works. Draped in a black suit and gold outfit complete with a straw hat, he entertained the revellers with a few light moments cracked towards members of P Unit Gabu and Boneye who sat in the V.I.P area.
Frasha’s official exit comes months after he said he stopped making music four years ago due to frustrations in the local industry.
“It’s been four years since I stopped being active in music and opted out of the music business due to frustration in the industry. Too much hard work with other people reaping the benefits,” he said.
Before music, Frasha was a physiotherapist at a leading private hospital. He would later dip his toes in politics with an eye on the MCA seat in Arthi River.
