Kenyans have expressed excitement after learning that top sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala is the latest to be enrolled in the disciplined forces as a police officer.
Currently the holder of the African fastest man record with a time of 9.77s in the 100m and ranked 8th in the World, Omanyala shared a photo where he is clad in full police pass out regalia, attracting hundreds of congratulatory messages from his followers. 'No doubt no one would dare run if he ordered you to stop,' a fan joked. Omanyala was among 25 sportsmen and women accorded the ranks during a pass out parade for 2,881 officers presided over by President William Ruto in Kiganjo National Police Training College, Nyeri county on Tuesday. The President reiterated the government's commitment to police reforms. Congratulations afande.
